My Mom was commenting on what a feat it must have been to build on a place like that and I'm sure it took some clever engineering. The site probably had to be built up and leveled to make a good spot for the house. This picture shows the driveway into the lot. It comes off of a frontage road which runs parallel to the highway. When no one is here there is a gate and a cable at the road to keep out unwanted visitors.

Day 2, October 18th, First blog entry
Ok, finally we are on day two and after cleaning up our mess, it's time to leave the beautiful place on Hood Canal. We didn't get to do as much cleaning as we wanted because the power was out due to a downed tree on the power line.

Here is the back of the house and you can see that it is a big lot. I didn't ask the size but there is plenty of room for parking outside the two car garage.

The tree looks like our Maple. Most of the colorful deciduous trees on the Olympic Peninsula are Maples and Alders.
