October 17th, Day 1, Second blog entry

After coffee we went outside with Kirk and Deidra to check out the oyster catch. Kirk shucked one and Denis accepted the honor of the first taste. (Vicki, you can ignore this page if it's too gross for you.)


Down the hatch. Mmmmmm. Who's next?

Ok, Norma will try one too.

For me he shucked a nice little one. I wasn't sure how much I would like a raw one with no cocktail sauce, but I was pleasantly surprised. They were very salty and very clean.

Next stop -- the beach. To get there we had to go down VERY steep metal stairs, more like a ladder actually. Denis went first in case I tumbled down.
